This week, my swoon is from The Fallen Kingdom by Elizabeth May!

"Tell me you're real."

"I'm real," I whisper. "I'm still here. I can ask you more questions, if you'd like."

"Later," he says.

Then Kiaran's lips are on mine. Hard. Desperate. Like he can't get enough of me; like I'm going to disappear. As if at any moment, he's going to wake up from this dream and I'll be gone.

Kiaran kisses me like he's about to lose me all over again.

He isn't gentle. There's no softness, no hesitancy, no delicate touches. And I don't want kind. I don't want gentle. My desire is just as fierce, just as demanding. I grasp the back of his shirt, digging in toughly with my fingernails. More. I want more. I need this. I need him. I pull back only briefly to yank off my shirt, the rest of my clothes, his. Then it's Kiaran's skin against mine and we're both burning, kissing, biting, clawing. It's a physical urgency, a devouring need, a benediction of yes, now, more.

This conclusion novel was perfect! The romance was stunning, and one of my favorite YA romances of all time. May writes some really good swoons - I had my choice of lovely ones from this book! Kiaran and Aileana are a fantastic couple. =)

I looked at her for a second, thinking about what I should say, what I should do, what someone other than me would say or do right now.

And then I thought, fuck it. I was already gone. No reason not to do exactly what I wanted.

I pulled her to me and kissed her, My bottom two fingers curled into the top of her pajama bottoms, which were cool and fuzzy-soft, and my top two fingers curled into her flesh, which was sleep-warm and smooth. She was startled, but she didn't pull away, and slowly, she raised one hand to touch my jaw with her fingertips.

I'd never kissed anyone like that before.

This week's swoon is a sweet first kiss! Catch my review of Here Lies Daniel Tate tomorrow. :D

He rolled, pressing her back into soft soil and crushed his mouth against hers. Her response was equally feverish and frantic. Her fingers pulled at his hair, and her knees surrounded his hips, nestling him deeper against her. She arched up into his hand again, and he plunged his tongue into her mouth as he gave her the contact she wanted. The contact they both wanted. His other hand trailed down to one of the thighs hooked around his hips, and when he touched her bare skin, her teeth caught his bottom lip.

I loved the romance in this book! Locke and Aurora are a very combustible couple, and this romance was somewhat hate-to-love, which is my favorite. I had several steamy excerpts to choose from, featuring Locke and Aurora. The book was so good, too!

I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm taking my foot off the brake. Just this once. Just to feel what I've imagined all these months. I lift onto my toes and bring my mouth to his.

I thought he'd hesitate or draw away, but he doesn't. He wraps his arms around me and we collide, connect, combine. His lips are surprisingly soft, his tongue softer, but the energy between us is hard, desperate. Every cell in my body charges with his strength, his energy, his clean alpine smell. His uneven breaths dance with mine, our hunger for each other raw and equal.

The romance in this book is slow-burn and swoony, with a little bit of angst! I'm enjoying it so far. I can't wait to see how the series ends!

And then he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to him, one hand moving up to cup her cheek, thumb just under hew haw while his fingers tangled in her hair. Rishi kissed her with purpose, with meaning, like he believed this was exactly where they were supposed to be in this moment. He kissed her till she believed it too.

[...]

Rishi felt clearheaded, bright, delighted, amazed. Dimple's mouth was sof and small and full against his, her body was warm as it pressed into him, and the smell of her skin and hair flooded him like a thousand stadium lights. He was kissing her. He, Rishi Patel, was kissing her, Dimple Shah.

Okami rolled onto his back, positioning her above him. He braced her chin in one hand, his lips traveling don her neck. To her bared shoulder. Back up to her ear.

Don't stop.

The rain battered down around her. Her heart slammed against her chest. Mariko finally closed her eyes, no longer caring about anything else but the feel of him. His hands at her back. His kisses across her skin. The stars could fall - the moon could crash from the heavens - and Mariko would not care.

When Okami broke away, his breath spilled from his lips in jagged slivers.

"Don't stop," she said without thinking.

His response was a wicked smile. Wordlessly, Okami rolled again, pinning her beneath his mouth, covering her with his body. He slid lower. Watched her face as he blew a cool stream across her bare stomach. A thread of molten amber raced down her spine.

When Mariko trembled - sparks dancing across her skin - Okami laughed softly.

I really enjoyed this book! And I adored Okami and Mariko. Some first kiss, eh? 😏

This week, my swoon is from What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum!

I am kissing David Drucker. I am kissing David Drucker. I am kissing David Drucker.

I  was wrong. I had assumed this would be his first kiss, that it would be fumbling and a bit messy but still fun. No way. Can't be. This guy knows exactly what he's doing. How to cradle the back of my head with his hands. How to move in soft and slow, and then pick up the pace, and then slow down again. How to brush my cheeks with even smaller kisses, how to work his way down to my jaw, and to soften the worry spot in the center of my brown. How to pause and look into my eyes, really look, so tenderly I feel it all the way down in my stomach.

He even traces the small zigzag scar on my eyebrow with his fingertips, like it's something beautiful.

I could kiss him forever.

I'm going to kiss him forever.

I am kissing David Drucker, and yes, I've forgotten everything else.

Because his lips are back on mine.

Because this, right here, is the best kiss of my life.

- ARC, pages 233-234

I loooooooved this book! David is 😍 and Kit is 💜 and David and Kit are 😍💜😍💜
