This week, my swoon is from The Fallen Kingdom by Elizabeth May!

"Tell me you're real."

"I'm real," I whisper. "I'm still here. I can ask you more questions, if you'd like."

"Later," he says.

Then Kiaran's lips are on mine. Hard. Desperate. Like he can't get enough of me; like I'm going to disappear. As if at any moment, he's going to wake up from this dream and I'll be gone.

Kiaran kisses me like he's about to lose me all over again.

He isn't gentle. There's no softness, no hesitancy, no delicate touches. And I don't want kind. I don't want gentle. My desire is just as fierce, just as demanding. I grasp the back of his shirt, digging in toughly with my fingernails. More. I want more. I need this. I need him. I pull back only briefly to yank off my shirt, the rest of my clothes, his. Then it's Kiaran's skin against mine and we're both burning, kissing, biting, clawing. It's a physical urgency, a devouring need, a benediction of yes, now, more.

- eARC, 33%

This conclusion novel was perfect! The romance was stunning, and one of my favorite YA romances of all time. May writes some really good swoons - I had my choice of lovely ones from this book! Kiaran and Aileana are a fantastic couple. =)

This week, my swoon is from Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill!

I looked at her for a second, thinking about what I should say, what I should do, what someone other than me would say or do right now.

And then I thought, fuck it. I was already gone. No reason not to do exactly what I wanted.

I pulled her to me and kissed her, My bottom two fingers curled into the top of her pajama bottoms, which were cool and fuzzy-soft, and my top two fingers curled into her flesh, which was sleep-warm and smooth. She was startled, but she didn't pull away, and slowly, she raised one hand to touch my jaw with her fingertips.

I'd never kissed anyone like that before.

This week's swoon is a sweet first kiss! Catch my review of Here Lies Daniel Tate tomorrow. :D

He rolled, pressing her back into soft soil and crushed his mouth against hers. Her response was equally feverish and frantic. Her fingers pulled at his hair, and her knees surrounded his hips, nestling him deeper against her. She arched up into his hand again, and he plunged his tongue into her mouth as he gave her the contact she wanted. The contact they both wanted. His other hand trailed down to one of the thighs hooked around his hips, and when he touched her bare skin, her teeth caught his bottom lip.

- ARC, pages 361-362

I loved the romance in this book! Locke and Aurora are a very combustible couple, and this romance was somewhat hate-to-love, which is my favorite. I had several steamy excerpts to choose from, featuring Locke and Aurora. The book was so good, too!

This week, my swoon is from Seeker by Veronica Rossi!

I know exactly what I'm doing. I'm taking my foot off the brake. Just this once. Just to feel what I've imagined all these months. I lift onto my toes and bring my mouth to his.

I thought he'd hesitate or draw away, but he doesn't. He wraps his arms around me and we collide, connect, combine. His lips are surprisingly soft, his tongue softer, but the energy between us is hard, desperate. Every cell in my body charges with his strength, his energy, his clean alpine smell. His uneven breaths dance with mine, our hunger for each other raw and equal.

- Page 97 (final copy)

The romance in this book is slow-burn and swoony, with a little bit of angst! I'm enjoying it so far. I can't wait to see how the series ends!

And then he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to him, one hand moving up to cup her cheek, thumb just under hew haw while his fingers tangled in her hair. Rishi kissed her with purpose, with meaning, like he believed this was exactly where they were supposed to be in this moment. He kissed her till she believed it too.

[...]

Rishi felt clearheaded, bright, delighted, amazed. Dimple's mouth was sof and small and full against his, her body was warm as it pressed into him, and the smell of her skin and hair flooded him like a thousand stadium lights. He was kissing her. He, Rishi Patel, was kissing her, Dimple Shah.

Cuuuuuuuute! Rishi and Dimple are adorable. I'm looking forward to finishing this book. 😍

Okami rolled onto his back, positioning her above him. He braced her chin in one hand, his lips traveling don her neck. To her bared shoulder. Back up to her ear.

Don't stop.

The rain battered down around her. Her heart slammed against her chest. Mariko finally closed her eyes, no longer caring about anything else but the feel of him. His hands at her back. His kisses across her skin. The stars could fall - the moon could crash from the heavens - and Mariko would not care.

When Okami broke away, his breath spilled from his lips in jagged slivers.

"Don't stop," she said without thinking.

His response was a wicked smile. Wordlessly, Okami rolled again, pinning her beneath his mouth, covering her with his body. He slid lower. Watched her face as he blew a cool stream across her bare stomach. A thread of molten amber raced down her spine.

When Mariko trembled - sparks dancing across her skin - Okami laughed softly.

- ARC, page 270

I really enjoyed this book! And I adored Okami and Mariko. Some first kiss, eh? 😏

This week, my swoon is from What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum!

I am kissing David Drucker. I am kissing David Drucker. I am kissing David Drucker.

I  was wrong. I had assumed this would be his first kiss, that it would be fumbling and a bit messy but still fun. No way. Can't be. This guy knows exactly what he's doing. How to cradle the back of my head with his hands. How to move in soft and slow, and then pick up the pace, and then slow down again. How to brush my cheeks with even smaller kisses, how to work his way down to my jaw, and to soften the worry spot in the center of my brown. How to pause and look into my eyes, really look, so tenderly I feel it all the way down in my stomach.

He even traces the small zigzag scar on my eyebrow with his fingertips, like it's something beautiful.

I could kiss him forever.

I'm going to kiss him forever.

I am kissing David Drucker, and yes, I've forgotten everything else.

Because his lips are back on mine.

Because this, right here, is the best kiss of my life.

- ARC, pages 233-234

I loooooooved this book! David is 😍 and Kit is 💜 and David and Kit are 😍💜😍💜

This week, my swoon is from Violet Grenade by Victoria Scott!

"I'm falling for you," he whispers. "If something happens to you, it'll destroy me."

His lips crash into mine.

My body reacts instantly. My arms twine around his neck, and he tugs me against him. And there, in the space between the main house and the smaller one where I'll earn our escape, Cain kisses me. I kiss back, too. Because that question he asked me in the car. About whether I saw the two of us being different - and better - together, has haunted me. I know the answer.

Yes.

I absolutely loved the slow-burn simmer between Cain and Domino! They are so cute and intense together. =)

This week, my swoon is from Avenged by Amy Tintera!

She pressed her lips to his, softly at first. His hands circled her waist, and he parted his legs, pulling her closer to him. His fingers slipped beneath her shirt, tracing the bare skin of her back, and it didn't matter that she had something to tell him, because she'd forgotten how to talk.

She climbed into his lap, letting her knees rest on either side of him. Her lips left his for a moment, and he leaned forward to catch them again.

She'd kissed him before. She'd kissed him in this bed before, even. But this was different. This was her body on fire, her brain turned to mush. This was nothing but him and the heat of his breath on her mouth.

This week, my swoon is from Starfall by Melissa Landers!

He tightened both arms around her, crushing their bodies so close there wasn't space to daw more than a gasp. He didn't care. Air didn't matter, only Cassia. It'd been so long since she'd let him hold her like this, and he would willingly suffocate if that was what it took to keep her in his arms. He tasted her mouth while squeezing her in a furious compulsion to pull her inside him. He wondered if he could ever feel close enough to her, even if they went all the way for once. Somehow he doubted it, but he desperately wanted to find out.

He kissed her hard, maybe too hard, because she broke away and panted against his lips. For a moment, he worried she might change her mind, but then she arched her hips and made a noise that said she didn't want this to end any more than he did.

- Hardcover, page 156

I loved Starflight, and so far this companion sequel is okay (though I don't think it's going to touch my obsession with Starflight). Catch my review soon!

This week, my swoon is from Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer!

He turns to face me, and before I'm ready for it, he moves close. Very close. So close that his cheek is against my cheek, and one hand is against my neck. If I take a deep breath, I'll be pressed up against him. His breath tickles my ear, his stubble brushing my jaw.

"Is this okay?" he says softly.

"Okay? This is about three thousand times better than my idea with the phones."

He laughs, and our chests do touch. One of his hands finds my waist. We could be dancing instead of sharing secrets. I have the sudden urge to wrap my arms around him.

- eARC, page 386

I don't remember the last time a book utterly consumed me like this one did. I planned on reading this one over two days, but instead, I found myself completely immersed in the story and unable to stop reading, and suddenly it's well past midnight and I've finished the book. It was wonderful! This is a non-kissy swoony scene and one of my favorites of the book. =)

This week, my swoon is from A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi!

I'd like to think I have a number of virtues. But patience has never been one of them. The moment the door closed, I caught his lips against mine. Swift and urgent. Our hands moved hungrily across each other. His fingers dug into my waist, pulling my hips to his.

At once, time was too fast and too slow and distance felt like an illusion we were trying to shatter. I pushed him against the door, tearing off his jacket. Vikram stood there, a tilt to his head as he let himself be appraised. The corded lines of his muscles caught the light, and my eyes roved from his broad shoulders down the lean, carved plane of his torso. I kissed him again. Slowly. As if the trial of tomorrow were an eternity away. We traded heartbeats until we kissed to one cadence, and I didn't know where we stopped and started.

- eARC, pages 249-250

I'm cheating a little, because I read this book last week. This week's reads haven't been super swoony so far. I adored this scene (and the book)!

This week, my swoon is from Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor!

But first... first he just really, really, really wanted to kiss her.

He searched her eyes fro acquiescence and found it. Freely she gave it. It was like a thread of light passing from one to the other, and t was more than acquiescence. It was complicity, and desire. Her breathing shallowed. She stepped in, closing that little space. There was a limit to their melting, and they found it, and defied it. His chest was hard against hers. Hers was soft against his. His hands closed on her waist. Her arms came round his neck. The walls gave forth a shimmer like sunrise on fierce water. Countless tiny stars spent themselves in radiance, and neither Sarai nor Lazlo knew which of them was making it. Perhaps they both were, and there was such brilliance in the endless careless diamonds of light, but there was awareness, too, and urgency. Under the skin of dreaming, they both knew that dawn was near, and that their embrace could not survive it.

So Sarai rose to her toes, erasing the last little gap between their flushed faces. Their lashes fluttered shut, honey red and rivercat, and their mouths, soft and hungry, found each other and had just time to touch, and press, and sweetly, sweetly open before the first wan morning light seeped in at the window...[ ].

"I was worried," he said, slowly pulling himself off the bed frame, leaning forward. His face was so close to mine in the quiet morning. My heart faltered once before catching a new rhythm, faster than before. Sebastian's dark hair had never looked so careless and my fingers itched to return to the inky strands. His eyes were the softest mossy green, and I was sure that all his usual awkward reserve had melted in this strange dawn. When I realized that his eyes were glued to my lips, I instinctively parted them, sucking in a fast breath.

Don't you dare kiss him, Evelyn.

He was so close I could have counted the strands of gold that gleamed in the green of his eyes. I could have shifted forward one breath and his lips would be on mine. I was dizzy, lost in the world that existed here between us.

- eARC, page 193.

So I didn't say anything else as I closed the last of the distance between us.

He said he would have torn the desert apart looking for me. And I felt in that kiss his desperation as his mouth found mine.

It wasn't enough with Jin; it was never enough. His hands were in the mess of my torn palace clothes, trying to find me under the too-heavy stitching and the weight of the gaudy khalat. One hand tangled into my hair, pulling away the delicate gold circlet that still clung there. He freed it from my hair, casting it aside, pulling pieces of the palace away from me, trying to return me to him.

It was like being caught in a wildfire, desperate for breath, like if we stopped we would extinguish. Without thinking, I pulled my hands away from his chest. It took one quick movement for my torn khalat to join his shirt in the heap on the groun, until I was waring nothing but the thin linen chemise underneath.

She stopped him with a hard kiss, one that obliterated all though and turned them into a tangle of limbs, their clothes thrown in every direction. The sheets turned gray from the Eye's dust and the ash of the burnings. The grit on their skin had trails running through it of sweat, kisses, tongues, teeth. Nalia held on to him and didn't let go, didn't look away. I am yours yours yours. Raif pulled her close, gentle, then fierce, and nothing, nothing would ever separate them again.

"For now, there are only a few words I want to hear." He pressed gently on her lower lip. "You can tell me faster, slower, harder, and - " He leaned closer till his mouth was only a breath away from hers.

Sweet goddesses, yes. Please kiss me.

He pressed his lips lightly against hers, then pulled back to look at her. "Softer."

Was that it? She needed more.

"Then there's my favorite-" He cradled her head with his hands. "- don't stop."

Her hands slipped up to his shoulders. "Don't stop."

He smiled, then leaned over to give her a slow, languid kiss, one that made her feel cherished and warm, as if she could gently melt into him. And the more she melted, the more she wanted to feel. There was the sweet pressure and nibbling he was doing to her lips, the strength of his broad shoulders beneath her hands, the softness of his hair as it curled around her fingers.

Sorry y'all, I stopped there to keep things (mostly) PG-13. :D I loved this scene. This is the first time that they touch each other, and it's also Luciana's first kiss. =) (Her first, well, everything. Hint hint.) I loved this book!

This week, my swoon is from The Dark Days Pact by Alison Goodman!

He cupped the back of her head in the long span of his hand and drew her closer, leaning down to brush his lips against her temple. She felt a word breathed soft against her ear - bacciami - Italian for kiss me. Ah, that was what buss meant.

[Skipped a paragraph to avoid spoilers. Helen is overthinking, in this paragraph.]

She smelled the clan, male scent of him, felt the rougher texture of his skin against her cheek, and drew a shaking breath. That pulse she had so brutally suppressed hammered into every part of her body, her fingers bunching with sensation. She found herself turning her face to meet his careful progress, her lips finding the soft curve of his mouth. They both paused, breath mingling, and then she felt the warm pressure of his tongue against her own, the taste of him, salt and wine, merging with the clean smell of his skin. It was startling and tender... and then it changed. Something wild crashed through her, a wave of throbbing energy that drove her up against his body, her fingers winding hard into the short crop of his hair. She felt him sway back, his breath catching into a gasp. She opened her eyes and saw the shock in his face flare into something more primal. She wrested him back to her mouth, any tenderness subsumed by animal need. He wrapped his arms around her, drawing her hard onto his chest, both of them locked into the dizzying sensation of their mouths and tongues and bodies pressed against each other. She felt as if she wanted to crawl into his skin, taste him, touch him, fill herself with him.

- ARC, pages 313-314

I cheated a little this week, because technically I read this book last week. But none of the books I read this week have inspiring swoony romances, and I couldn't NOT share this kiss at some point. :D I loved The Dark Days Pact! I'm really eager (and anxious) to see how the series ends... in 2018.

This week, my swoon is from The Dragon's Price by Bethany Wiggins!

His hands tighten on my hips as he presses his lips firmly to mine, and where my hand is splayed against his chest, I feel his heart burst to life. Closing my eyes, I melt against him.

His mouth moves over mine, patiently coaxing my lips open, and I tighten my hold on the back of his neck as my knees wobble. He kisses my slowly, softly, like I am a new flavor and he has to take his time to taste all of me. I slide my hand up his chest and press it to the side of his face to feel his jaw working as he kisses me. One of his hands slowly traces my spine through my shirt and finds my neck. The other hand fiddles with my braid, tugging the ribbon from it, slowly undoing the weave until my hair falls long and loose all the way to my waist. Golmarr twists his fingers in my hair and kisses me harder. The sound of the waterfall is replaced with the roar of blood moving through my body.

- ARC, page 199

I liked this book, especially the romance! There were soooo many swoony scenes I could have shared today. This one is one of my favorites. :D
